OK, be honest, how many times since you got engaged has someone asked you “what are your colors?” We can’t help it – we all love a good wedding color scheme. It’s why Pinterest, Instagram and all the wedding inspiration websites log so many hours from brides.
Thankfully, those are great places to get inspiration or choose your color scheme. (Feel free to Google “wedding color trends for xxxx year” and you’ll find several choices)
But what if you want something a little more unique? Or you just aren’t feeling Playful Pomegranate as the wedding color of the year. 🤦
We’ve got you covered with 3 easy ways to come up with a custom wedding color scheme. Bonus: they are all free and easy to redo over and over. (But eventually you’ve got to pick just one…)
This is probably the quickest way to create a custom wedding color scheme. (Plus, what did we do before ChatGPT?) Scary AI or not, sometimes it’s just pretty cool. 😎
This can be done without even logging into ChatGPT. Completely free and anonymous.
Enter the prompt below with your information filled in.
Create a wedding color scheme for a (your wedding season) wedding at an (your ideal type of venue) venue with an (your ideal vibe) theme. Our favorite colors are XXX and XXX.
For example,
Create a wedding color scheme for a Spring wedding at a ballroom venue with a modern theme. Our favorite colors are green and gold.
Feel free to add 3 colors if you can’t narrow it down to 2, but not more than that. If you have 4 – 5 colors, you probably already have a color scheme – just sayin.
ChatGPT will give you 4 – 5 colors with descriptions plus some freebie tips on how to use it in bridesmaid dresses, floral or decor.
What if the shade of green ChatGPT suggests isn’t what you want? For instance, maybe it suggests sage green and you’re more of a jewel tones girl.
Simply ask ChatGPT to suggest colors that are bolder or more muted depending on the direction you prefer.
Easy, right? (and for a color loving girl, slightly addictive…)
Check out the quick video below to see just how easy it can be.
This one requires a little more prep work, but it will help if you are more visual.
Start by researching images for Fall, Spring, etc. wedding inspiration. Use Pinterest, Instagram, Google images, etc.
Find an image (or 3) that you like and save it to your computer.
For this ChatGPT prompt, you will need to sign in to a free account.
Click on the paperclip icon and attach the image. Ask ChatGPT to create a wedding color scheme from the attached picture.
Then let it do its magic.
Use the same adjustments as mentioned above for the word prompt.
Quick video below – since we’re visual.
Finally, you can use a color palette generator. Our choice is Coolers.co because it allows you to tweak the colors from the image.
You will go through the research process mentioned above for the ChatGPT image prompt.
Use www.coolers.co to Generate a Palette.
Click on the camera icon and upload your image.
As you click on each color provided, a circle will appear on the original image you submitted. Simply move the circle around to adjust each color.
Hit Next and Export Color Palette.
I suggest exporting as an image since that is the easiest format to share.
Give it a title, save and you’re all set!
Check out the video below for a tutorial.
That’s it! 3 easy ways to create a custom wedding color scheme. You can use our prompt or an image with ChatGPT, or upload an image with coolers.co.
